MEET THE TEAM: Sarah Logan, our new Dietician and Personal Trainer!

Hi! I’m Sarah Logan, the new Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer here at LNPC!

Background

I’ve lived in the Lake Nona area for several years and graduated from Lake Nona High School. In high school, I played varsity volleyball and also ran track and cross country, which is where my love for nutrition really began and grew. I was told by my coach to keep a food journal to keep track of the foods that I ate along with how I played. This is where I discovered how closely linked nutrition is to sports performance.

Education

After high school, I went off to Samford University to earn my bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics. All four years of college, I worked with the Samford Football team as well as Olympic sports teams as their sports nutritionist. I would take over the sports nutrition program when the dietitians that I worked with moved onto other schools. I also worked at the University of Georgia for a brief time with their football program as well as UCF football in graduate school.

When I went onto graduate school at the University of Florida, I worked in a variety of clinical settings as well as community. I worked in food service/kitchens, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and fitness centers. I quickly realized that I missed working in the sports nutrition field, but I also knew that there were so many friends and family members around me who wanted my help with nutrition and fitness once I graduated.

Experience

Shortly after graduating and passing my RD exam, I opened a virtual private practice, got my personal training certification, and also accepted a part time position at Arnold Palmer Childrens Hospital in the Feeding Difficulties Center. I work one on one with people to help people combine nutrition and fitness effectively to reach their goals and move away from so many diets that just left you hungry and further away from your goals. I have already helped hundreds of men and women manage chronic diseases, help lose body fat and gain muscle, and personalize their lifestyles through evidence-based practice.

Life Outside of Work

I got married to my husband Jake back in 2020 in a small wedding in the Keys where he grew up. He is a civil engineer/senior inspector in roadway construction (Ive learned A LOT about I-4!). When we arent working we love traveling, watching football, trying out new recipes (and restaurants), and spending time outdoors.

We have 3 cats named Matty, Patty, and Maisy. No they did not pose for a picture, but they are very loving cats. Im not just a crazy cat lady though because someday we hope to have a dog! We also enjoy spending time with family since both sides of our family are mostly in Florida.

Even though I do a lot more weight lifting with my current workouts and have seen significant progress in my own health and body, I used to run a lot of 5Ks and half marathons and completed my first marathon in January 2020 where I placed 1st in my age group.

I am so excited to help the Lake Nona Community reach their goals through nutrition and fitness! I truly believe that everyones body is unique and nutrition should be aligned with someones goals, preferences, the way they respond to foods, and their lifestyles.
